Estate Winery and Jill’s Restaurant are businesses
that complement and support each other. The new building
was envisaged by the owners as an active architectural support
for their businesses and their passion for creating and
serving premium food and wines in a convivial and unique
setting. Like the food and the wine, the architecture should
be memorable and an enthusiastic feature of ongoing recommendations.
The new building, which has a prominent tower seen over
the vineyards on approach, is constructed in rammed earth
and radially sawn timber with honed concrete floors and
creates a sheltered courtyard with the original rammed earth
winery built in the 1980’s.
The restaurant with its undulating ceilings, shaded arbours
and broad terraces overlooks extraordinary views across
the vineyard - from the YouYangs in the West, Mt Macedon
to the North and the Dandenongs in the East.
